TESTIMONIAL
A Place To Call Home
We’re both from the same small town. When our jobs moved us to Northern Virginia, finding a church home was overwhelming in this large, metropolitan area. But, once we stepped foot in Calvary Road, we knew we’d found our church home.
Two kids later, we’re so thankful for the love and support of our church family. When life gets chaotic and obstacles get thrown in our path, we know we’re not alone. At Calvary Road, people really care. They reach out to you when you need it the most.
We’re plugged in and growing. And, we’re delighted to call this place home.
There are many reasons why we are grateful for Calvary Road Baptist Church (CRBC). Not only is it the place where we first met, it is also where God has taught us most about caring for the body of Christ, reaching the unsaved, and communing with God every day.
While I (Jasmyne) have grown up at CRBC, Gabriel found the church after moving to NOVA from his home in Spain. Since getting married, it has been our privilege to serve together in various ministries. We currently serve as leaders in Ignite, the church’s young adult ministry.
Here at CRBC, sound teaching and long-lasting friendships have helped us greatly in our Christian walk. In just a few, short years, God has changed our priorities and perspective for His glory. We are humbled and motivated to continue serving at Calvary Road, where God has called us.
Being a military family, it’s somewhat challenging to find the perfect church home when you move around so frequently. We moved to the DC area back in August of 2012 with our then 6 month old son. We didn’t have to look far when we came to Calvary Road Baptist for the first time. On that Sunday, we went to the 8:00 am worship service and then went to Mike Williams’ Sunday School class afterwards. Everyone was welcoming and friendly, and we just knew in our hearts that this is where God wanted us to be.
We knew we would only be here for about a year so we were faithful in coming to church but did not actively serve until we came back for the second time. Thankfully, we found a similar church in Florida to attend from 2013 to 2016. When we moved back to Alexandria in October of 2016, there was no doubt about it: we were going to serve and worship the Lord at Calvary Road. It is everything and more that we look for in a church when we move. It’s always felt like “home” to us. The ministries here at Calvary are rock solid, and we’ve experienced spiritual growth because of it. We’re excited to be a part of the CRBC family!
