A call to Godly living and a life set apart to Jesus Christ is the standard by which we minster to young people. We’re not legalists and we’re not pious. We don’t dress funny and we don’t try to hide from this evil world in which we live. We look like most everyone else, and we’re not perfect – we fall down every day. We don’t think we’re better than anyone else – we know our poor standing before a holy God.
We live out a forgiven life, and we willingly submit to God’s authority because we know, by experience, that submission brings the abundant life that God promised His children in John 10:10. We know that, in Christ, we can celebrate the freedom that the Christian life brings. We even know how to “throw down” (take out your urban dictionary) on occasions. What we realize, though, is that the closer we get to God as we align ourselves with a Biblical worldview, the more our freedoms become great opportunities to live out a dynamic and purposeful life.
We know where we’re headed; we have the Spirit of God to help us, guide us, and keep us while we’re living life down here. We have hope, even with our pasts, and we live each day with vigor that comes from our Savior, Jesus Christ. We don’t have all the answers, but we know how to find them; we hold true to the Word of God – the Bible – because we know that it gives us our Basic Instructions Before Leaving Earth (cool acronym, huh?). We’re on the right path and we’re growing in our faith every day. We’re going to make it to the finish line while still running strong because we know that has God already won our victory. And when we breathe our last breath, we are confident that we will continue our eternity in the presence of our Lord, in His Home – Heaven.
This is why we have a NextGen Ministry: so that many more young people can learn to live their God-given life to its fullest and know the forgiveness of sin that is only granted by the blood of Jesus Christ, our Savior and Lord.
